Along with the demo song "Rindu" which they submitted to the radio Prambors also often start playing, even had time to stand in the position jawara for 2 levels in the last song indolapan. But planetbumi was only included in the compilation of music album entitled "The Party Group" and only accounts for only two songs. Presumably the planetbumi less satisfied with that, then dibuatlah indenden album, entitled "Independent" and distributed through the hands to the hands as well as "1945" because they also want to introduce the songs that they work to the public.

They also re-enter them one song demo, entitled "Holy Pun laugh" to Prambors radio and in fact was so jawara levels in the songs of independent "indielapan". After that they go back to the recording studio to make a demo tape, and the song they made a single title of the "joker" which includes four songs and three of them are new songs. In addition manggung-manggung, they still make new tracks and begin introduced to spectators. Finally, around August 1998 they released the album again, this time under the flag Color Production, which is a kind of indie label the rather large. This album title they be regarded quite unique, which is "see kebunku ... full of flowers."

According to the plan they want to make continued until 4 albums, so if we arrange fourth album title will be a children's song "See Kebunku". We wait for the album they are, whether it will stand up to 4 album? The album contains ten songs, and there are 3 new songs.

Year of Planet Earth 2004 album re-release indie titled "The World Peri syndrome" with personnel Nyoman (Lead Vocal), Aroel (guitar), Eki (guitar), Molli (bass), and Uga (drums). Wanting to cut themselves off from their pasts, Mosshart and Hince considered their new project to be Year Zero in their careers. They renamed themselves VV and Hotel respectively and began writing sparse, minimalist songs together with the aid of a drum machine. In 2001 they showcased their new songs on a well received demo tape. In true punk rock fashion, however, the pair shunned approaches from major record labels. Recording as VV and Hotel, they contributed the song "Restaurant Blouse" to the compilation If the Twenty-First Century Did Not Exist, It Would Be Necessary to Invent It. Shortly after this they recorded their debut release, the Black Rooster EP, which saw release on British indie label Domino Records and was picked up for distribution by Dim Mak Records in the United States.

The record could not have been more of a departure from both artists' previous bands. It was lo-fi in both musical and aesthetic terms. The record sleeve featured photos of Mosshart and Hince taken in a photo booth rather than professional photography. Musically, the record was a sparse, lo-fi Garage rock/Blues hybrid. Though the band cites PJ Harvey, LCD Soundsystem and Royal Trux as immediate influences, the music press has largely compared them to the other boy/girl minimalist garage blues duo The White Stripes.

Keep on Your Mean Side now

Following international touring, they entered Toe Rag Studios, where the White Stripes had recorded their album Elephant, to record their debut album Keep on Your Mean Side, mostly on 8-track, in just 2 weeks. Distributed in the US and UK by Rough Trade Records, the album was similar in style to the EP, veering from the Velvets-esque stomp of "Wait" to the noisy, dirty garage punk blues of "Fuck the People" (this song is rumoured to be a reference/homage to the French convicted criminal Florence Rey) and dark psychedelia of "Kissy Kissy". The record was well received by the music press, though the White Stripes comparisons would not go away.

Maintaining an anti-careerist, anti-music industry attitude, the band rarely granted interviews. Rather, they got the music press to come to them with their minimalist yet powerful live shows (which also included the drum machine), the pair maintaining an air of tension by subverting the expected role of stage performer.^{[citation needed]} Mosshart chain-smoked while singing, rarely speaking to the audience, whilst Hince violently ripped blues riffs from his instrument. At a New York City show following the ban on public smoking, Mosshart went on stage with three bottles of water, lit up a cigarette and proceeded to smoke constantly from the first song to the last note of the set.

No Wow

Their second album, No Wow, was released by Domino Records on 21 February 2005. Featuring an artier, less "guitar rock" sound, the record embraced post punk influences and sounded even more stripped down than Keep on Your Mean Side. Originally written to be performed on a Moog, the band was forced to change directions and record it primarily using a guitar as its central instrument after Hince's Moog broke and couldn't be repaired before entering the studio.^[2] A 40-minute DVD documentary was included with a limited number of copies and features interview, performance and on the road footage shot on tour.

The first single, "The Good Ones", from No Wow, was released on 7 February 2005 and reached number 23 in the UK singles charts.

Mosshart features in the title track of Placebo's latest album Meds, released on 13 March 2006 in the UK, and on 4 April 2006 in the US. She also features on the Primal Scream album Riot City Blues.

In 2006 "Wait" from the album Keep on Your Mean Side was used in Children of Men, the film by Alfonso Cuarón. It is played on Radio Avalon and described as "a blast from the past all the way back to 2003, that beautiful time when people refused to accept the future is just around the corner".

In 2007 the show Criminal Minds used the songs "Cat Claw" and "Wait" from the album 'Keep On Your Mean Side' in the episode "Doubt".

Midnight Boom

On November 2, 2007, the band announced on their news blog that their third album was finished. The first single was called "U R A Fever", and was premiered by Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 1 on November 19. On December 10, 2007, The Kills were interviewed on a New York radio station where it was revealed that the new album will be titled Midnight Boom. Two song titles were also revealed: "Alphabet Pony", a dark surreal song inspired by playground clapping games and songs, and "Last Day Of Magic", a song written by Jamie Hince about heartache and loneliness, with references to the Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment.

Following a cover-story interview in Nylon magazine, the new album was released March 10, 2008 (March 18 in US), and The Kills embarked on a supporting US tour. There is also a new UK tour for April, set to begin in Edinburgh on April 15 with These New Puritans.

In March 2008, Alison was featured in the BBC documentary The Mighty Boosh: A Journey Through Time and Space.

The kills band indie from London United kingdom Mosshart was previously in Floridian punk rock band Discount, and Hince was in the British rock bands Scarfo and Blyth Power (the latter an anarcho-punk band). The duo first met when Mosshart heard Hince practicing in the hotel room above hers, and when the former groups disbanded they struck up a songwriting partnership. For months, the pair air mailed work tapes across the Atlantic; this proved to test the patience of both artists as it took days or weeks to get each others tapes, so Mosshart upped sticks from her Florida home under the guidance of Lauren Antonina Herbert and flew to London.

Epica's performs a blend of progressive metal,^[2]^[3] gothic metal,^[4]^[5]^[6] and symphonic metal.^[7]^[8] Another component of Epica's style is power metal^[7] with their guitarist Ad Sluijter describing the band as "a bridge between power metal and gothic metal."^[9] Vocalist Simone Simons has expressed a preference for the group to be described as symphonic metal^[10] though the founder of the group Mark Jansen notes that they do not mind being called gothic metal.^[11]

The music of Epica is aggressive, bombasticand excessive with some songs being "epic, grand and majestic" and others "more subdued and introspective."^[The band is also known to have progressive tendencieswhile a gothic atmosphere and sentimentality is also present in their music.

Epica uses a "trademark of many symphonic and gothic metal bands" in contrasting "two extremes, death grunts and brutality on one side, airy female melodiousness on the other." Eduardo Rivadavia of Allmusic notes that the band's "attraction ultimately hinges on exploring the sonic contrasts of light and dark; the punishing intensity of those elephantine guitar riffs and hyperactive drumming cast against the soaring, layered sweetness of the orchestrated strings and keyboards." Simone Simons delivers operatic vocals in a mezzo-soprano range though she has also been known to sometimes sing "with a clear alto voice that has a flawless tone and a lot of emotion." Mark Jansen delivers death grunts "that are secondary to Simons' singing, but very important in terms of balance and variety."The group is also known to employ human choirs and orchestras with additional embellishments such as spoken word recitals and lyrics in Latin and Arabic.

Two singles were released from the album, "Solitary Ground" and "Quietus (Silent Reverie)".

Epica's non-metal album The Score - An Epic Journey was released in September 2005 and is the soundtrack for a Dutch movie called Joyride, though it could also be considered to be their third album. Mark Jansen describes the album as typical Epica, "only without the singing, without the guitars, no bass and no drums".^[1]

In 2005 and 2006 Epica went on their first tour throughout North America with Kamelot. After the tour, drummer Jeroen Simons left the band because of his wish to pursue other musical interests. In Fall 2006, Simone once again contributed vocals to album of Kamelot, this time on the tracks "Blücher" and "Season's End" on the albumGhost Opera. In December Ariën Van Weesenbeek from God Dethroned was announced on Epica's official website as the guest drummer for their new album, but not a permanent band member.

Album Epica

1. The Phantom Agony (2003–2004)

Their debut album, The Phantom Agony, was produced by Sascha Paeth (known for having produced bands such as Angra, Rhapsody of Fire and Kamelot) and released in late 2003. The song "Façade of Reality" on the album was written about the September 11, 2001 attacks and includes fragments from speeches by Tony Blair.

The album was followed by three singles: "The Phantom Agony", "Feint" and "Cry for the Moon"

2.Consign to Oblivion / The Score (2005–2007)

Their second release, entitled Consign to Oblivion, was influenced by the culture of the Mayan Civilization, which can be noticed on songs in the "A New Age Dawns" series. "A New Age Dawns" refers to the time system of the Mayan people, which extends up to the year of 2012, and makes no reference of what may happen past said year. Consign to Oblivion was composed with film scores as a basis, with Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman cited as major inspirations. The album features guest singing by Roy Khan (from Kamelot) on the song "Trois Vierges". Epica also joined Kamelot as a support band on parts of their tour for promotion of the The Black Halo album, to which Simons had contributed her vocals on the track "The Haunting (Somewhere In Time)".

3.The Divine Conspiracy (2007–present)

In September 2007, Epica headlined their first tour through North America and released their latest album, The Divine Conspiracy, this time on a new label, Nuclear Blast. That December, Ariën Van Weesenbeek was announced to be Epica's permanent new drummer. The band toured North America again in April 2008 with Into Eternity and Symphony X, this time with Amanda Somerville because Simone had contracted a staph infection (MRSA).

The first single of the album was released on August 10, 2007 entitled "Never Enough".

In second single, "Chasing the Dragon," was released in 2008 without an accompanying video.

On 16 December 2008, Ad Sluijter left the band. He left a message on his Myspace page with his reasoning for leaving the band, which included frustration over being unable to enjoy composing music because of deadlines. The band has announced they will be keeping fans up to date on his successor.

About down for the count
Hailing from sunny Southern California, Down for the Count is a shining star in the world of upcoming music. These boys have traveled a rough road to get where they are. Even after enduring a van inferno, deportation from a foreign country, and several member changes, D4TC presses on. In their young careers, the band has already self-released two albums. The first was an EP entitled "History in the Making," released in 2005. This sparked the interest of Japanese indie label Kick-Rock Music (Valencia, Four Year Strong, Sound the Alarm). The label proceeded to release the band's debut full-length album, "Broken Record Tactics," in February of 2007 through major stores in Japan including Tower Records and HMV. The album was then self-released in the U.S. in May of 2007. After months of relentless promotion, rigorous touring, and non-stop writing, the band inked a deal with indie label Negative Progression Records in April of 2008. Their debut release for Negative Progression is a 6-song EP entitled "Battle Royale," a shimmery work of art that clearly shows the band's true colors and talent. About You, Me, and Everyone We Know
How did we get here?" is the question that seems to be most heavily weighing on the collective mind of You, Me, and Everyone We Know in these last few months. After all, their decision to head into the studio to record a follow up to their 2006 release Party For The Grown and Sexy wasn't one made months in advance with the utmost of care and planning; It was instead brought on by a van fire that destroyed most of their possessions and the place they had come to call home. In the year leading up to this event, You, Me, and Everyone We Know, comprised of Ben Liebsch, Rico Vigil, Aaron Stern (formerly of Matchbook Romance), and Noel Milford, took the stage at South By Southwest, Bamboozle, Warped Tour and supported tours for such acts as I Am The Avalanche, The Dear Hunter, Four Year Strong, Just Surrender, Every Avenue, Sing it Loud, and The Color Fred just to name a few. Their 8 song EP, Party for the Grown and Sexy, was released for free in January; quickly reaching nearly 30,000 downloads, and has been widely acclaimed by artists, industry and fans alike.

The band's drummer, Aaron Stern, recalls the few minutes preceding the blaze: "We were actually mid-argument about releasing new music on our own when the tire initially blew. After we watched the van burn up, we kind of took it as a sign to get our tails in the studio." You, Me, and Everyone We Know then quickly enlisted the services of producer Josh Cain (of Motion City Soundtrack) and made plans to begin recording in Minneapolis days after ending a tour with the city's own Sing It Loud. So, the band picked itself back up, made the trek to Minnesota, and began recording an EP they would aptly name, So Young, So Insane.

You, Me, and Everyone We Know continues to draw from similar influences on their latest effort, though the band doesn't deny growing a little over the last two years. "The core of this band is definitely still here," says guitarist Noel Milford. "I think no matter kind of feel a song has, you're definitely going to know it's us playing it."

Things are changing for You, Me, and Everyone We Know, with So Young, So Insane set to be released on November 18th, a full U.S. Tour in November and December, and an attitude that anything CAN and WILL happen. In keeping with the "unsigned and just fine" attitude they have come to adopt over the last 2 or so years, You, Me, and Everyone We Know has once again elected to give away their new EP, So Young, So Insane, digitally for a limited time. "The days of 'needing' a label are gone for us," says guitarist Rico Vigil. "If and when we sign, we will look back on this knowing it was the smartest decision we ever made for this band."

Sing It Loud is a proud pop band with an arena-rock musical background and a punk-rock pedigree. "So many pop bands are on ‘pop' record labels, but we're a pop band on the most badass, punk-rock label ever," explains vocalist/guitarist Pat Brown. "It lets us keep a more individual and original vibe because we're not associated with a bunch of bands on the same label that sound exactly like us."

On the flipside, the members of Sing It Loud are prepared for punk purists to call foul, but they aren't fazed. "Many old-school, Epitaph punk kids hate our band, but I don't care," admits guitarist/vocalist Kieren Smith. "Honestly, people will love and hate what you do. I'm doing this band for me and my boys. People change, music changes, labels change."

That said, Sing It Loud is happy to usher in change when Epitaph Records releases their debut Come Around on September 23rd. Produced by Motion City Soundtrack guitarist Josh Cain and engineered by Mark Trombino (Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World), Come Around is a collection of songs with fist-pumping melodies (like "I've Got A Feeling" and "Marionettes") and head-bopping choruses (like "Best Beating Heart" and "No One Can Touch Us (featuring Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low)"), which are sure to give fans a full-body workout. It's no wonder that audiences are advised to hydrate before seeing the band live, which is something that longtime listeners have known since seeing the band play their first shows.

Although those first shows were admittedly terrible ("I honestly don't know why [Epitaph label head] Brett [Gurewtiz] signed us; we were so bad," insists Smith.), Sing It Loud showed the kind of promise that couldn't be denied-despite only playing seven shows before they got signed. It all started in April 2007 when frenemies Brown and Smith were in two rival local bands in Minneapolis (Semester and Jamestown Story, respectively) but soon realized they had an unexpected connection: Smith's step-aunt was dating Brown's dad, unbeknownst to the two teens. It was then that they decided to join forces, form Sing It Loud and meld together Brown's love of pop punk with Smith's affinity for arena rock.

"I was always captivated by bands that could own their crowd and whose fans stood by them through thick and thin," remembers Smith, who counts Kiss and Def Leppard as among is early influences. "They became more than a band; they were a lifestyle."

Sure, that lifestyle had a lot to do with big hair and spandex pants, but it also included longevity-something that the members of Sing It Loud hope to achieve with the release of the album's first single "Come Around." One listen to this infectious, pop-tastic love letter and you won't be able to get it out of your head no matter how hard you try-that is until you listen to "Don't Save Me." Sometimes relationships just aren't meant to be and the song is an ode to making a clean break from the one you worked so hard to woo. Come Around has something for everyone-big riffs, bigger choruses and enough catchy melodies to fill a PODS storage unit.

"We don't want to be a band that lasts for only one or two albums and then drops off the face of the Earth," says Brown. "We want to be able to play shows and support ourselves by doing this for the next 10 to 20 years, hopefully. We love doing this and there's nothing else we want to do."

History

Formation and early history

The formation of Motion City Soundtrack was made possible after the separation of two local bands. Joshua Cain of Saddest Girl Story recruited Justin Pierre from Slide Coaster, instigating the formation of Motion City Soundtrack in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1997.^[16]^[17] The band's first lineup comprised of only two of the current members, guitarist Cain and vocalist Pierre. It also contained guitarist Joe Skinner who didn't last until the end of the year, and later, drummer Andrew Whitney.^[According to Cain, they soon realized that there "wasn't really anywhere to play [shows] in Minneapolis", and that they would have to "tour all the time" to get the name out there. The name Motion City Soundtrack was thought up by Josh Cain's brother, Jesse, who Josh says "made up a name for something he was goofing around with, just as an idea, and I asked if we could use it", and they did.

In January 1998 Motion City Soundtrack played their first live show, and throughout 1998 they played local shows and had numerous lineup changes. Andrew Gruhn joined the band briefly on the moog synthesizer, Whitney departed, and Austin Lindstrom took over the bass position, with Joel Habedank, formerly of Sadie Foster and the Fuck Yeahs, on drums. Later in 1998, Gruhn departed,leaving Cain and Pierre to share the moog duties and the band as a four piece, to record with Randy Duerr at Wigged Out. These recordings would later turn out to be their 7" vinyl release, "Promenade / Carolina",marking the official formation of the band in 1999.

In the early 2000s the band did more chopping and changing of their lineup, with the inclusion and then departure of short-lived bassist, Matthew Potocnik,it also saw the exclusions of drummer Joel Habedank as well as bassist Lindstrom, after his second stint.In mid-2000, Motion City Soundtrack released their first CD EP, entitled Kids for America. It was self-produced, recorded by Sound in Motion and co-released with Modern Radio Records, coinciding with their tour alongside local band, AMP 176.The first EP was closely followed by Back to the Beat, which also self-produced and later notably reviewed by music website Punk News in April 2001, one of the band's first official reviews.

2002 saw the formation of Motion City Soundtrack's lineup as it is today. The departures of drummer Sidney Burgdorf and Austin Lindstrom prompted the additions of two former members of Richmond, Virginia-based band Submerge,drummer Tony Thaxton, and months later bassist Matt Taylor.Thaxton initially took about a year to convince to join the band.Jesse Johnson, who worked with Cain at a Pizza shop in Minneapolis was the last current day member to join the band. He joined just three weeks before the initial recording of their first album and in this time, learned the moog synthesizer from without any prior experience.

I Am the Movie

In mid-2002 Motion City Soundtrack twice self-released their debut album, I Am the Movie. It would later become the basis for their first full-length studio album, of the same name. The album was originally produced by Ed Rose, who had previously worked with The Get Up Kids, Ultimate Fakebook and The Anniversary.It was recorded at Red House Studios in Walnut Creek, California, with Punk News describing the production as "nothing short of stellar".I Am the Movie was unusually released originally in the form of a five and a half inch floppy disc and sleeve.

Motion City Soundtrack released the album a third time through Epitaph Records in June 2003. It was partially re-recorded, with the bass guitar parts being redone by new bassist Matt Taylor, for legal reasons.

Backed by the success of their first album, Motion City Soundtrack toured for quite some time and in 2003 released the third track on I Am the Movie, "The Future Freaks Me Out", as their first single, which became a modest hit. According to the band's official website, the song's success was surprising, as the band "wrote the song in mere hours and it almost didn't even make it onto their debut." A second single was released later that year, "My Favorite Accident".

Commit This to Memory

Motion City Soundtrack's second album was recorded in Los Angeles in fall 2004, and was produced by Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 fame. The song "Hangman" also featured Mark's vocals.

The title, Commit This to Memory, was chosen early in the album's production, and is taken from a lyric in one of the album's songs, "Hangman". Production work on Commit This to Memory was finished in early 2005, and the album's winter theme (with two songs reflecting on New Year's Day) contrasted heavily with its expected June release.

The album was leaked to illegal file sharing websites within a day of the final mastering and months before its official release, whilst the band took part in the first ever Epitaph Tour in February and March of 2005. Epitaph placed computer arresting software on the official release of Commit This to Memory to resist any further damages due to piracy. The precautions were reported to heavily limit how you could play and listen to the disc.

On June 20, 2006, the band released a special Deluxe Edition of the album, it included an extra track "Invisible Monsters", a DVD with three hours of footage containing a documentary, a live show and five of their music videos, including a video for the song "L.G. FUAD", which was made especially for the re-issue. The live concert was shot at the 7th Street Entry show in their hometown of Minneapolis.

The album's first single, "Everything Is Alright" featuring Patrick Stump noted as Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, Mark Hoppus and members of Limbeck, has found significant radio play and has already appeared on several compilations. The song's video has appeared on MTV and Fuse channel, and has also appeared on the Saint's Row soundtrack. The song was also featured in the trailer for the 2006 comedy movie Accepted. "Everything Is Alright" also appeared in the soundtracks for The Bad News Bears and the video game "MLB 06: The Show". The band's second video from the song, "Hold Me Down", proved to be a lesser success.

Even If It Kills Me

In January 2007, MCS was announced as having one of the most anticipated upcoming albums of 2007, they were featured on the issue #222 front cover of music magazine, Alternative Press, in the Most Anticipated Albums of 2007 edition.

The band recorded their third studio album with two different sets of record producers at separate times. Adam Schlesinger (of Fountains of Wayne) and Eli Janney (of Girls Against Boys) were responsible for seven of the final tracks on the record, and former frontman of The Cars, Ric Ocasek, for the other five. The two separate recording sessions created a concern over whether the album would hold a consistent vibe, drummer Tony Thaxton stating "[it's] something we definitely worried about. Our solution that we set was that it had to be all mixed by one guy", the band hired one "big name" audio engineer, Tom Lord-Alge, to mix eleven of the tracks, the exception being "The Conversation", as it was only piano and vocals.

In anticipation of the upcoming album, the band released a series of 'webisodes' (video blogs) in early 2007. A collaboration between vocalist Pierre and bassist Taylor was captured on camera and consequently, viewers saw the birth of the song "The Conversation", a song that featured as track seven on the eventuating album.The webisodes were released through a specially made website for the album, titled EvenIfItKillsMe.tv, with the videos being created by the brother of Joshua Cain, Jesse. The six videos also included clips of songs from the then upcoming album.

After the disastrous circumstances with the leak of their second album, the band took precautions prior to their third album in 2007. Advanced copies were handed out to marketers and reviewers with a warning, or as Joshua Cain described it, "a threatening letter". Alternatively, Motion City Soundtrack invited the relevant parties to a Nike ID Studio to listen to the third album.

The album eventuated as their most successful both commercially and critically. It received positive reviews from numerous sources, with British magazine Kerrang and music website Rock Louder both giving it four out of five stars, as well as Absolute Punk awarding it a commendable 83%.Even If It Kills Me topped the Top Independent Albums charts at #1, as well as reaching #16 on the Billboard 200, selling around 33,000 albums in its first week.

Eight months after the initial release of their third album, MCS released a five track Acoustic EP featuring acoustic versions of songs from Even If It Kills Me. The songs were released exclusively on May 6, 2008, through the iTunes Music Store, as part of a bonus bundle package of Even If It Kills Me. A physical release of the EP is expected for later in 2008.

In June 2008, Joshua Cain and Justin Pierre announced several times throughout a podcast with Alternative Press that they would be moving from Epitaph to Columbia Records, a subsidiary to major label Sony BMG. This was confirmed whilst the band was on Warped Tour in August 2008, with Cain also saying that they would be writing for a new album from October to December, before recording. Justin Pierre and Joshua Cain formed the band with shared inspiration from Sunny Day Real Estate, Jawbox, The Flaming Lips, and Superchunk.They've since been noted as being influenced by Braid and The Rentals, "early 90s rock",Elvis Costello, Pixies, 80s music, dance music and Ben Folds.^[35]

The band's musical style is widely recognisable by its unique blend of pop punk with the moog synthesizer. They have been widely attributed to a number of different genres, including pop rock,indie rock, punk revival and the usual reference of pop punk. They have been said to display "more pop than any other genre" which mix in "alternative-based, acoustic songs" to "switch up the successful flavor that gained them notoriety."^[The band has been described as being "too diverse to fit into just one particular genre," with Pierre replying by suggesting the band could fit into "Scrabble rock. Not Fraggle rock. You know the game Scrabble, where you’ve got to come up with the big words and you get the most points," he was referring to the lyrical content of the songs, where he admits he must sometimes use a dictionary to "fact-check".

Their debut album, I Am the Movie has been described as having a "distinctly unified and identifiable style." An article by The News Record's Jeff Miller in 2004 said, "inspirations for the band's style range from Elvis Costello to Huey Lewis, but it is more appropriately described as a fusion of Jimmy Eat World and The Get Up Kids, enough high-energy to classify under punk, contrasted with enough emo lyrics to fill up a LiveJournal." Motion City Soundtrack's "synth-pop-punk" style has been brought upon by "lyrics and guitar lines that are purposefully designed to get stuck in your head, all perpetuated by the catchiness of Johnson's keyboards."

The band's third studio album, Even If It Kills Me, came with more of a pop sound than the previous two. Jesse Johnson has said the band had the opportunity to add "elements such as strings onto the latest record."The Daily Cardinal said that the "album is true to the band’s fast-paced punk roots while remaining firmly anchored in catchy bubblegum pop melodies," demonstrating the band's "maturing style" while "the pop-punchers play it safe and stick to what they know best."

Metro Station credits Motion City Soundtrack as an influence, following Cain and Pierre's production of two songs for their debut self-titled album.

Lyrical themes

A large portion of Motion City Soundtrack's lyrical content is written by lead vocalist, Justin Pierre. Over the years this material has been largely affected by his personal life and past experiences. In 2007, the band's third album was Pierre's first "written completely sober, after battling drugs and alcohol for years".Referencing his accomplishment in the song "Even If It Kills Me", "I can say that I want to try / To get better and overcome each moment / In my own way."Pierre says he draws inspiration for lyrics from artists like "Ben Folds and Tom Waits and people who I believe tell stories". In particular, the song "Antonia" from the band's third album, was written about a number of real people Pierre knows, including his sister and the band's drummer Tony Thaxton.He said "It is 100 percent true but not necessarily about one person. But the idea itself is a love story, liking all of those idiosyncrasies and quirks and weird things that are maybe confusing to some people but they all make up this unique individual and you love that person."Pierre illustrated his Ben Folds influence in the 2007 song, "The Conversation", saying it was "kind of a Ben Folds-type thing. I was a little nervous that it was a little too Ben Folds, but I was told that it wasn't, so we just went with it," commenting "I just think [he's influenced me] as a lyricist, and he's got such a great voice. It just kind of melts. Everything he does is pretty much golden as far as I'm concerned.

Motion City Soundtrack has embarked on tours frequently from the start. Being a small time band from Minneapolis, they featured in tours alongside other local acts such as AMP 176.As they grew a larger fan base they begun playing shows with other bands in a similar progression towards success. They played basement shows with Fall Out Boy and The All-American Rejects before they all found their commercial success,with Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz opening some small punk club shows for themSince then Motion City Soundtrack has said that their level of success was due to the constant touring they have always done, it has gained them recognition as one of the hardest working bands in the genre of pop punk.Backed by the success of their first album and their signing to Epitaph, Motion City Soundtrack toured for quite some time, having venues in the UK upgraded to accommodate a larger audience for shows alongside The All-American Rejects and Limbeck.In 2004 they played around 320 shows.They were invited to tour with Blink 182 through Europe and Japan, with Blink 182 bassist Mark Hoppus taking a liking to them and later producing their second album, Commit This to Memory.

Gradually working their way up, the band have been on multiple worldwide tours, notably through Japan, the UK and Australia where they've built a name for themselves with their enthusiasm and energetic live shows.In 2005, the band's heavy touring saw them on their first Australian tour alongside punk rockers MxPx, the Nintendo Fusion tour with Fall Out Boy, The Starting Line and Boys Night Out,as well as playing their third straight Warped Tour.

In late 2007 they embarked on a US Fall Tour with Anberlin, Metro Station and Mae. Continued support for their third album saw them supporting headliners Panic at the Disco alongside The Hush Sound on the 2008 Honda Civic Tour. Motion City Soundtrack now holds a reputation as a headline act and main stage performer at large concerts and music festivals. Headlining dates on America’s Warped Tour in 2008 and playing main stage around Australia’s Soundwave Festival in 2008, alongside massive acts The Offspring, Killswitch Engage and Incubus.

Motion City Soundtrack embarked on a co-headlining US tour alongside Chiodos, Hit the Lights and Person L, from September 22 up until October 2, 2008.

Motion City Soundtrack Band Indie From is an American rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, formed in 1997. Only two of the founding members are still a part of the lineup: lead vocalist and guitarist Justin Pierre and lead guitarist and backing vocalist Joshua Cain. The band also includes keyboardist and moog synthesist Jesse Johnson, bassist and backing vocalist Matthew Taylor, with drummer, percussionist and backing vocalist Tony Thaxton. Motion City Soundtrack have released three studio albums and sold almost 600,000 records throughout their career, including over half a million in the United States alone.

Motion City Soundtrack's first release was a 7" single, "Promenade/Carolina", in 1999. The following year they released their debut EP, Kids for America, and then a second, Back to the Beat. They released debut album I Am the Movie twice, in 2002. Their first five releases were all self-released with the aide of a small record label. Backed up by their constant touring it fashioned them a fast growing fan base, and a signing with Epitaph Records.

After spending their first five years finding the right lineup, the Epitaph re-issue of I Am the Movie in 2003 was the band's big break. First major single "The Future Freaks Me Out" arrived with live and television success, but failed in radio airplay and the charts. 2003 and 2004 brought three Split EPs alongside Schatzi, Limbeck and Matchbook Romance. The second album, Commit This to Memory, has been the epitome of MCS' sales to date, selling 285,000+ records and peaking at #2 on the Top Independent Albums chart.It featured single, "Everything Is Alright", which also found success on the likes of MTV, but also fell short in radio airplay and the charts.

The release of Even If It Kills Me in 2007 propelled the band to their most successful chart results. The album debuted at #16 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top Independent Albums chart.It produced singles "Broken Heart", "This Is for Real" and "It Had to Be You", which all received television airplay.

Biography

Group members Matt Langston and Caleb Satterfield first played together in a church praise and worship group from Greenville, South Carolina. After adding drummer Johnathan Stephens, the band began by playing shows in their hometown when they were in high school. They self-released a full-length album and several EPs,which caught the attention of Flicker Records, a Sony/BMG subsidiary distributed through Provident Label Group. Their major-label debut, And the Land of Fake Believe, was released on May 16, 2006 to mixed reviews. Following the release of the album, the group appeared at Shoutfest '06,gained exposure on MTVUand had success at Christian rock radio with the single "MySpace"; their profile on said website became very popular as a result. Their single "More Than A Revolution" reached the Top 5 in ChristianRock.Net's weekly Top 30, and #28 in their annual Top 100, as well as topping the Radio & Records Christian Rock charts.After an appearance on The Logan Show on November 25, 2006, the group announced plans to tour the US in the early months of 2007.^[15]^[16] Their second album for Flicker, Galactic Conquest, was released on September 4, 2007.

The group has garnered comparisons to other Christian pop punk groups such as Relient K and Stellar kart. They make frequent references to recent popular culture and both their music and lyrics have stylistic similarities to third-wave emo popular in the 2000s, but the group has sought to infuse the music with hope rather than maintain the themes of sadness and grief common to this music Lead singer Matt Langston has said, "You get tired of being yelled at, hearing the same parallels drawn in every song... About Bring me the horizon :

Bring Me the Horizon began with members of many defunct bands from around their local area. They acquired their name based on a line taken from the film Pirates of the Caribbean, in which Captain Jack Sparrow shouts "Now... Bring me that horizon."After slightly altering the original line, by simply changing 'that' to 'the' Bring Me The Horizon then became the official name of the band. They are currently signed to Visible Noise Records, but were originally signed to Thirty Days of Night Records and were the first band to be signed to that label. The band are also signed to Epitaph Records in the USA and are also signed to Shock Records in Australia. They have toured in the past with bands such as Lostprophets (headline), The Blackout; Killswitch Engage (headline) and The Haunted. They did a headlining tour of the UK during March and April 2007 with the now defunct metalcore band I Killed the Prom Queen. They played Download Festival 2007 in June also with Iron Maiden, Slayer and others.

Bring Me the Horizon also played at Download Festival 2008. including a guest appearance Travis from Gym Class Heroes on August 6th in Calgary. He joined Oli in chanting the start of their new song Diamonds Arent Forever. In November 2007 they toured on the Australian leg of Gigantour, playing three dates. They returned to Australia in May/June 2008, appearing on I Killed The Prom Queen's final tour. They also appeared on the Warped Tour in the US.

Bring Me the Horizon had been writing and recording a second studio album over the beginning of 2008. They had been in Sweden recording the album throughout April and May with Fredrik Nordstrom, who has worked with bands such as At The Gates, Arch Enemy, I Killed The Prom Queen and Dimmu Borgir. It is scheduled to be released on September 29, 2008. The album is supposedly completely different from Count Your Blessings, having a more metalcore vibe to it, similar to This Is What The Edge Of Your Seat Was Made For.^{[citation needed]}

The band is on a UK headlining tour with special guests The Secret Handshake, Deez Nuts, The Legacy, Dead Swans and The Red Shore. Bring Me the Horizon are also set to join Mindless Self Indulgence, Cancer Bats and Incase Of Fire on the Kerrang! and Relentless 2009 UK tour.^{[citation needed]}

Controversy

Nottingham Incident

While on tour in the United Kingdom allegations were made against vocalist Oliver Sykes that he urinated upon and then assaulted a female fan after a gig at Nottingham Rock City when she allegedly refused his sexual advances. Sykes was subsequently charged with urinating on the fan, but not with physical assault. Online Music Zine Drowned In Sound claimed that Bring Me The Horizon were banned from Nottingham Rock City.However the band's label Visible Noise denied these rumours and the band subsequently played Nottingham Rock City on December 1, 2007.

On April 13, Sykes appeared in Nottingham Magistrates Court on a charge of common assault relating to the alleged urination incident, to which he pleaded not guilty. The case was adjourned until early May. On 3 May 2007 Sykes attended Nottingham Magistrates court for the second time and confirmed his not guilty plea. The case was adjourned again until 17 September.^[13] Due to lack of evidence, all charges against Sykes were dropped.^[14]

YouTube Video

During a tour, Bring Me Horizon and Architects filmed a video showing fights between Oliver Sykes and Sam Carter. The video was filmed at an all-day event in Karlsruhe, Germany and shows what seemed to be Sam Carter committing violent acts of physical violence towards Oliver. The video was uploaded onto the online video website, YouTube of which it attracted thousands of hits. This video outraged many Bring Me The Horizon fans causing many people to send violent hate mail to Sam Carter.

"We're mates with the guys and were sharing a bus for the whole two week tour!" Carter told Kerrang!. "The fact that people believed it was real is just so ridiculous! We filmed the fight about three times and even added in comedy punch noises and yet kids were still sending us over-the-top hate mail!" Oliver Sykes also commented saying "All-day events can get boring very fast so we conjured up the first idiotic thing we could think of and made it as unbelievable as possible. Sam was getting death threats from kids off MySpace and at the same time getting praised for laying me out! We're sorry if anyone was upset by this although I'm sure most people reading this probably like the thought of me getting a punch in the face!". The issue was later resolved with things returning back to normal, although the video still receives many hits on YouTube.

Bring Me the Horizon (often abbreviated to BMTH) are a deathcore/metalcoreband indie from Sheffield, Yorkshire. The band formed in the year 2004 from members of other bands within their local area.^[4]^[5] They play a style of music that fuses death metal and metalcore, known as deathcore — although they have taken on a more metalcore style with their latest album.

About souljah :

Souljah was formed back in 1998. At first, it was named Arigatoo. Then along with the expanding music that we make, we decided to change the name to Souljah at 2005. With Arigatoo, we did some compilation albums. One with Authority Records from Japan, titled Asian Ska Foundation in 2003 and the other was with Sony Music Indonesia, titled Ska Mania back in 2000. And in 2003, we released Arigatoo full album titled Kami Bukan Perawan Lagi (We're Not Virgins Anymore). Later on, in 2005 we released Souljah first album, entitled "Breaking The Roots", with hit single Jamaica's Away. And in 2006, Souljah released second album, titled "Bersamamu" (To Be With You), with hit single Bersamamu. For now, Souljah albums distributed only in Indonesia.
